The National Board piloted Principal certification using the Accomplished Principal Standards. While the pilot did not result in adding National Board Principal Certification, the Standards created by educational leaders can be a useful resource in supporting principal and educational leader growth.

Facilitation Guide for Principals
As lead learners, principals can study the National Board Standards side by side with teachers using the Principal Standards Study. The study aligns the Accomplished Principal Standards with the same topics in the teacher Standards Studies. More on the Standard Studies here. |

As an assistant principal at a National Board Professional Learning Pilot School, Suzanne Farmer self-assessed using the Accomplished Principal Standards to develop her professional growth plan (PGP).
